2024 Workshops

Distraction Games February 2024 TBD 2:30-4:00pm

There are so many possible distractions during a trial environment or even during class. This workshop will give you and your dog the skills and practice to turn it into a fun game. Using the principles of the 1-2-3 game we will practice some simple agility sequences while gradually increasing the distractions. Possible distractions used will be food, toys, motion, noises, people in the ring, etc.. At the end, our goal will be to have your dog think sometimes unexpected things happen and it’s ok, I know what to do and how to reconnect with the handler. Also helping you identify signs before your dog disconnects and how to help. *Since we want to control and gradually increase the distractions please plan on crating from your car during this workshop.

1.5 hours $75.00

Limited to 6 teams.

Held at BAAD Arena in Bend, OR

Bring a variety of treats, leash, and be ready to have some fun!

Jess D. & Lainey

Christiana's Distraction Games Workshop was wonderful for my reactive dog Lainey. Christiana makes sure that your dog's needs and safety are the first priority and she goes at your dog's pace. Lainey is nervous around other dogs and has SEC which makes new people and places a bit scary for her. At first, Lainey was taking treats hard but by the end, Lainey was focused on me even when Christiana had the whole group clapping and cheering (which usually sets Lainey off). Lainey was confident and happy when she left class!

I really enjoyed my distraction seminar with Christiana. I found it very helpful working with my young dog and distractions. It  was well run and put safety first. Christiana was very easy to work with, She had clear and understandable criteria, with a very supportive environment.I would recommend this seminar to anybody looking to improve their dogs, focus and ability to deal with the environment.
