Yes! Any breed of dog can learn and have fun doing agility or nose work.
All dog agility classes are held in Bend, OR at the BAAD Arena on Neff Road. Private lessons are held at Desert Sage. Scent work classes are held at various locations in Bend, OR.
No you don't have to any many students don't. You and your dog are on your own path and whether you decide to compete or not just remember to have fun!
I keep a list of those interested in starting classes and email out once a class time is determined. Please contact me below to be added to the upcoming class list. Class size is limited to a maximum of 5.
Christiana is an incredibly gifted trainer—gentle, patient, and deeply intuitive with all kinds of dogs. Her support and knowledge have made such a difference in our journey. She doesn’t just train dogs; she helps build trust and lasting connection. I'm forever grateful for her guidance!
As a fellow dog trainer, one of my guiding principles is "train the dog in front of you." That doesn't mean the previous dog you had, the dog you wish you had or the dog you had last week (or sometimes even the dog you had this morning LOL). Christiana's skill in seeing the dog in front of me is truly her super power and the reason we come back every week. We are so lucky that positive dog training has taken hold in our community but there are still few out there that can take this next step in incorporating and encouraging observation in training.
I really enjoyed my distraction seminar with Christiana. I found it very helpful working with my young dog and distractions. It was well run and put safety first. Christiana was very easy to work with, She had clear and understandable criteria, with a very supportive environment.I would recommend this seminar to anybody looking to improve their dogs, focus and ability to deal with the environment.
Christiana is an empathetic trainer. She was able to help a novice handler like me progress with my 2 year old dog. She astutely recognized an injury that my dog had incurred (not from agility!) by a change in her willingness to take jumps. The rehab went smoothly thanks to Christiana encouraging me to go to the rehab vet! She makes training fun and the dogs love her.
I have been training with Christiana for over a year in both agility and general training for my puppy. I love her positive approach and her ability to really understand what is going on in the mind of my pup. She has given me some practical ideas and suggestions in dog greetings, nutrition, puppy socializing, as well as more advanced agility moves. Highly recommend!
Christiana has been a wonderful instructor and trainer for my 11 year old over the past 2 years and counting. She treats her like an adult, instills trust and confidence, and the results have been impressive. I can't believe the two of them can focus our 1 year old lab to run 10+ obstacles! My daughter loves working with Christiana and certainly plans on sticking with dog agility for years to come.
